REFLEXOLOGY is a natural, ancient, healing art using the pressure points on the feet, to balance many conditions holistically. This includes mental, emotional and physical conditions.

Based on a scientific principle that every organ in the body is reflected in the feet, REFLEXOLOGY is one of the fastest-growing, holistic therapies gaining worldwide recognition and acceptance. The feet are a microcosm of the human body and by manipulating the reflexes of the feet, energy congestion is released.

Reflexology Correct stimulation of these reflexes enables the recipient to relax the stressors thus improving the blood supply and energy flow. The result is an overall feeling of well being enabling the body to function normally and efficiently.

It is believed that disease and illness are psychosomatic and stress related. Fear, anger, insecurity and anxiety have the effect of draining the body, obstructing the free flow of energy, thus making it more susceptible to disease. Theoretically  REFLEXOLOGY “ taps the life force” of the body by flushing through and replenishing the energy flow” creating a deep relaxation for the body known as the “ALPHA STATE”, the most serene level at which healing can effectively take place.

REFLEXOLOGY is becoming widely accepted throughout the world because of its known effectiveness in maintaining good health and allowing the body to re-establish its vitality and energy.

REFLEXOLOGY techniques vary from therapist to therapist and theories on explaining how it works have many connotations. Many therapists work along the lines that acupuncturists use, others believe in working on nerve endings. The end result is the same and that is to better the health of our fellow human beings.

There are two types of reflexology “HARD TOUCH” and “SOFT TOUCH”.  In the year 2300 BC an ancient’s mural was found in an Egyptian Physician’s tomb which refers to REFLEXOLOGY. The recipient is asking the therapist to be gentle. However reflexology has to date been practiced fairly aggressively and has acquired the reputation of being “PAINFUL”.

Although the firmer form of practice is effective it has been noted that the softer touch is a more natural, loving route to follow and the areas of congestion and sensitivity are far more readily detected. At the same time it has a calming, almost hypnotic effect, relaxing the body and promoting harmony. REFLEXOLOGY is an energy-based form of massage with the objective of detoxifying the body, improving circulation, eliminating blockages and relaxing the mental state of mind.

By the power of touch on the feet, a deep state of relaxation is created, commonly know as the “ALPHA STATE” i.e the period between waking and sleeping. The prime objective of REFLEXOLOGY is to work with the bodies' own natural and innate healing efforts to help connect and restore the balance between mind, body and emotions and to maintain these levels at all times. This is achieved by working on the reflexes of the feet which correspond to our various body organs.

In REFLEXOLOGY, special pressure techniques are used to stimulate these reflexes to enable imbalances in the tissues, organs and the systems of the body to be detected and balanced restoring well being. It is a completely safe and non-invasive natural aid to restore the bodies' healthy balance.

Language of the Feet

This is used to help the Reflexologist to determine the character and subconscious state-of-mind of the recipient. The marks of life’s experiences are reflected in the feet long before being mirrored by the physical body. For example the heavier the thought, the greater the burden, the more swollen the feet are as well as the possible manifestation of bunions.
